Oh, Boise. I think you are such a fun city. I love your trees, how easy it is to walk everywhere, your farmer’s market and just the general vibe. You’re perfect for the millennial generation.
Yesterday morning we headed to Boise to watch the Idaho State game. Surprisingly, Boise State’s football field is less obnoxious in person. As terrible as the smurf turf is on television, it was completely bearable live.
As soon as we got into town we checked into our hotel and then we headed to 10 Barrel Brewing Company. It’s a favorite of mine and William’s and yesterday they were celebrating the launch of their seasonal, Pray for Snow and hosting a raffle for a season’s pass to the local mountain. William had a few beers, I had a few margaritas. He ate a prosciutto pesto chicken pizza and I had an awesome quinoa, butternut squash salad with feta and tart cherries and bell peppers and salmon. It was delicious! Our friends Bre and Neil joined us when they got to town and it was nice to catch up with them.
After lunch we headed back to the hotel and then went straight to the booster tailgate. After the tailgate we walked over to Albertson’s Stadium where Boise State slaughtered Idaho State 52-0. We left near the end of the third quarter. Despite the perfect football weather and being with friends, it was a terrible game. I like games that are closely contested and equally matched. This game was not that.
This morning we headed home for a weekend of relaxing, cleaning and watching football from our cozy home. We missed our sweet dog too, who had the best time at doggy day care as always and is currently passed out in her bed. I love how happy she is to go there and play with friends and how it wears her out – that’s how I can tell she played her heart out.
Autumn, I am so glad you are here weather wise. Its so lovely to have our windows open and the breeze coming in while watching football. I love being able to cuddle under a blanket with a mug of tea and just cozy up with my sweet family.
