Today, William and I are celebrating our one year wedding anniversary! We are celebrating with waffles, eggs and bacon for supper along with our anniversary cake from our baker, who made the same flavors as our wedding cake for us. It’ll be a fun way to honor the brunch we had a year ago.
This last year has gone by so quickly and been filled with many amazing moments and fun memories! We celebrated our first married holiday season, creating our own traditions for our family, pulling from the foundations of the families we grew up in, but adding in new elements too. We went to our first wedding as a married couple to witness William’s brother marry his high school and college sweetheart. We went to the beach for two weeks, visited Colorado and Alabama for football games and family time, and had a busy year just walking through the “normal” of day to day living.
Today, I thought it would be fun to look back at October 10 a year ago. These pictures capture from roughly 8:30 a.m. through 2:00 p.m., as we did a 10 a.m. ceremony followed by a brunch reception. Later that night, we had everyone who wanted to come to our house for an open house to watch the Alabama versus Arkansas game. It was a perfect day filled with love and surrounded by the people we hold dear.
Rae and my Mama lacing up my gown.
The back of the dress – I loved the Swiss dot overlay and lace applique of the gown – it’s why it immediately jumped off the wall to me the day we bought it!
The bridge at the country club made the perfect spot for our first look!
Seeing each other in our wedding finery for the first time!
Our photographer captured the morning light so beautifully among the golden trees!
We have this on a canvas and love how it captures the beauty of the season & the gorgeous day we were blessed with.
Our wedding party! William’s dad was his best man and my sister, Rae, was my maid of honor.
The gorgeous bouquet our florist created! I gave them free reign for our florals and love how they turned out!
This is one of my very favorite images of the day – I love how joy-filled William’s smile is!
I loved that we had these special touches on the guest book table. The beautiful stone was a gift from my friend, Sara, and my sister made the seating chart. I loved our monogrammed pumpkin and the gorgeous leaves we had throughout the reception.
This mantle was behind the bar where they served mimosas, bloody marys, ceasars and beer. I love that this vision came to life of pumpkins spelling out our last name with leaves and berries woven throughout!
The handsome man I call my husband waiting at the end of the aisle.
My sweet daddy walked me down the aisle to Eidelweiss, the song he used to sing us to sleep as kids.
Saying our vows in front of that gorgeous SouthEast Idaho view!
Walking down the aisle as Mr & Mrs!
William sang to me throughout our first dance to In My Life by The Beatles.
In My Life, I Love You More.
Our gorgeous and delicious cake! It was a white cake, with the bottom tier having raspberry filling, the middle tier having raspberry and lemon curd filling and the top tier having lemon curd filling. William’s groom’s cupcakes were chocolate with mint frosting.
When we left our reception, we had guests throw leaves to celebrate the autumn season.
