Weekend Recap

Happy Monday!

This weekend seemed to fly by, but we had beautiful weather so it was also thoroughly enjoyed!

Saturday morning we got up and headed to our beloved river trail for a family walk. We planned to do two loops around campus, but settled on just one. It was chilly and felt like the early stages of autumn. The fog settled on the river and in the tops of the hills around us and it was so serene!

The rest of Saturday was spent working in the yard. We removed some tree limbs and old wooden lining around a flower bed. William fought off some yellow jackets and destroyed their nest. I picked up hundreds of crab apples and have hundreds more still to discard. William mowed and I weeded. I watered our flowered plants out front. We got a lot done and it felt good to check it all off the list! I also finished the new book (coming later this fall!) by my friend and former coworker Erin Smalley about marriage and things we can do for our husband. It was good and I’ll definitely share my review later this week!

Sunday I did a lot of cleaning and we went to our women’s soccer team’s home opening game. The weather was fantastic, it was free, we were able to bring Mavis and the view from where we set up our chairs was great! We did leave when they were losing 3-0 at the beginning of the second half though. After the game I cleaned a bit more, decorated our living room for autumn and settled in to watch the season finale of Game of Thrones!

Y’all, did you watch the season finale last night? So much happened! I was so excited and released to see the Sansa and Aria storyline last night, frustrated and not surprised by Circi (sp?) and grateful for Jamie. I loved the meeting between Bran and Samwell. I have a lot of feelings about it all but don’t want to spoil too much. All I can say is that it was a satisfying season finale and I am already anxiously awaiting the final season – it’s going to be intense! Also, if at the end of all of this a Lanister is on the throne, I’m going to be pissed. What were your thoughts from last night? Any predictions for next season? I read a great one yesterday about Jon Snow.

How was your weekend?
