What’s Up Wednesday

What we’re eating this week:

Monday: London broil with a side of roasted sweet potatoes and beets

Tuesday: Korean inspired lettuce wraps and Jasmine rice

Wednesday: Chicken Cesar salad

Thursday: Hamburgers and yellow rice

Friday: Fish (from our trip at the beginning of the month!)

Saturday: Chicken Cesar salad

Sunday: TBD from our weekly CSA share

What I’m reminiscing about: Three years ago yesterday was our dog’s adoption day! It was also the day after I lost my PapPap three years ago. So much life has happened in three years and the end of July is bittersweet.

What I’m loving: My Yeti tumblers for my coffee and iced tea. They’re amazing at keeping coffee hot for hours and my ice not melting!

What we’ve been up to: At the beginning of the month we were at the beach, and since we’ve been home I have been working a lot.

What I’m excited about: Going kayaking with my summer students this Saturday!

What I’m watching: We loved Kim’s Convenience this month! It’s a great Canadian sitcom centered on a Korean family and their family business. It was hilarious and warm and so enjoyable!

I also loved Alexa & Katie. I think I cried every episode! It’s a sweet teen show on Netflix about friendship, starting high school, family, and fighting cancer. I loved it.

What I’m reading: I’m currently reading The Book of Essie and China Rich Girlfriend.

What I’m listening to: I’m loving From the Front Porch, What Should I Read Next and Business Wars as my podcasts this month.

I’ve also been listening to a lot of Blink-182 and Leon Bridges.

What I’m looking forward to this month: My in-laws visiting, our quick trip to Toronto with my in-laws and school resuming at the local University.

How was your July?

  1. Oooh! What do you have planned for Toronto?? I saw Phantom there and it was the best cast I’ve ever seen. Also, Niagara Falls has fireworks at night sometimes during the summer months – it’s really beautiful! My favorite sweet white wine is from that region – it’s called Baci. (Clearly, I’m excited for your trip to Toronto, lol!)

    1. We love Toronto too! I’ll have to try that wine!

We’re stopping at Niagra Falls on our way up – getting there early to beat the crowds.

We have reservations at our favorite restaurant, Richmond Station, one night and are going to a Jay’s game one night. We’ll probably take my in-laws up the CN tower and on a stroll around the lake. Other than that it’ll be fun to see where we wonder around to!
